Our Olympic mission is to provide a clear pathway for athletes to reach the highest level of competition, with a focus on developing talent for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Through a structured progression from junior development to elite and para-cycling, we cultivate champions who excel on the world stage. In collaboration with USA Cycling and other key governing bodies, we work to identify, develop, and support athletes on their journey to Olympic success, ensuring they have the resources, competition opportunities, and high-performance guidance needed to thrive. With a proven track record of producing Olympians and medalists, TWENTY28 remains dedicated to advancing the sport of cycling while empowering athletes to achieve their full potential both on and off the bike.
The team was formed in 2005 with the goal to create a pathway for athletes to the 2012 London Olympics. In 2009, the team name became TWENTY12, changing every 4-year cycle, followed by TWENTY16, TWENTY20, TWENTY24, and now 2028 representing the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The TWENTY28 program is responsible for developing many of the most successful American female cyclists to date, creating opportunities for elite, junior development, and para-cycling athletes.
We develop high-performance athletes and the next generation of competitive cyclists. We have success in aligning student-athletes with college scholarships through cycling. We support the multi-discipline athlete and are adaptive, dynamic, versatile, resilient, and committed to growing diversity in the landscape of women’s cycling.
Our athletes have accomplished 16 Olympic/Paralympic medals, 19 world champions, and countless national champions hailing from the USA, Canada, Cuba, and Mexico. A further 5 team alumni have represented Team USA in the past three Olympic Games. The team model supports experienced and elite riders to perform at their highest potential while offering junior riders a groundbreaking mentor program.
