Anna Hicks is a young cyclist originally from Placerville, CA. Throughout her life, Anna has always been an athletic outlier. Her talent began to shine in high school, where she earned a division 1 scholarship after only one season of running cross-country. After college, Anna raced at the elite level on the road in 2023 and finished 8th in the Pro Road National Championship in her first season. More recently, at the end of her first road season, Anna tested her off-road abilities at Big Sugar Gravel and finished 3rd in a competitive women's field. The podium at Big Sugar sparked a fire in Anna to compete at the highest level of off-road cycling and become a consistent and dominant racer. Throughout 2024 Anna competed in the Lifetime Grand Prix off-road series demonstrating her abilities to be competitive across multiple disciplines. 

Parallel to racing, Anna is a Sports Nutritionist and a coach.  Anna helps athletes achieve peak performance through coaching and nutrition education. She is passionate about personal development and guiding others to make positive changes, whether in enhancing their nutrition or developing the confidence to establish and pursue athletic goals.

What inspired you to become a bike racer?

In college while running xc and track I was very inspired by the women’s World Cup XC team. It was inspiring to see women being badass mountain bikers while chasing the highest level of performance. This led me to beginning cycling where I instantly fell in love with the challenge and reward of mountain biking.

Who is an inspiration to you in your life, both on and off the bike?

The best thing about being a bike racer is?

The training, I love the feeling of confidence and accomplishment that comes from smashing an intimidating workout and knowing that I am progressing.

What is your biggest accomplishment on the bike?

Finishing Leadville 100

Favorite place you’ve raced your bike and why?

Bentonville, AR. The trails are so fun and the community around cycling is unmatched.

Trail Running

Best tip for a new bike racer?

Just show up! Don’t be afraid to jump in, you learn the most outside your comfort zone.

What are one of two things that you do daily that are the key to your success?

- Journal

I was homeschooled until high school
