UCI World Cup - Perth Australia

Sofia’s return to track racing has been nothing short of remarkable. After racing just twice on the track last year, she has come back at full speed in 2026, opening the season with five medals at the Mexican Track National Championships, followed by a gold and a bronze at the Pan American Championships, and then a bronze medal at her first World Cup in seven years. She is no stranger to the podium on the world stage, having previously earned two silver medals at the UCI World Championships.

As Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY28 road captain, Sofia brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team. She will be back in action on the road at Redlands Bicycle Classic.

“Standing on a World Cup podium after seven years away from World Cup racing was incredibly special. The sport has evolved a lot in that time, and coming back has been a steep learning curve. I’m still adapting, learning, and I’m excited to keep improving. Being back in this environment and earning a result like this reminds me how much I love competing at this level.” - Sofia Arreola
