Anna Hicks delivered a breakout performance in the UCI Scratch Race, racing in her Stars and Stripes as the reigning U.S. National Track Champion. In her first international competition, she didn’t just show up—she left Bromont with both the Omnium Scratch win and the standalone UCI Scratch victory.
It was a race defined by patience and timing. With all eyes on Marlies as the fastest sprinter in the field, Anna played it perfectly—launching a couple of sharp moves before committing fully with five laps to go. The bunch went into full pursuit and nearly closed her down on the line, but Anna held them off with grit and composure to take the win.
Scratch Race
"I am so grateful for the opportunity to do my first international track race at Bromont. It was a great learning experience and successful racing with winning the Scratch race and winning the scratch within the omnium. It was very exciting to take the top step of the podium and back up my nationals results especially with this being my first UCI track event. I also made big progress on my pack skills and confidence on the track. Track has easily become my favorite discipline and I’m excited to keep gaining experience." - Anna Hicks
