Tour of Somerville Established 1940
Somerville, New Jersey
The Tour of Somerville is one of America’s most historic cycling events, first established in 1940. Over the years, the race has only been interrupted for major events, including World War II, the pandemic in 2020, and a hurricane in 2021. For much of our team’s history, we were based on the West Coast, so we did not regularly make the trip to these iconic East Coast classics. That changed last year, when Marlies Mejias lined up at Somerville and delivered a memorable win. Returning this year gave the team another opportunity to be part of a race with deep tradition, passionate spectators, and a special place in American cycling history
"We love coming to the Tour of Somerville, the longest running bike race in the U.S. The incredible Caribbean spectators always make it such a special event, and the fast course is truly a sprinter’s dream. Our small but mighty squad raced perfectly to give Marlies the chance to launch her sprint to take the win. Huge thanks to Rafael, Veronica and Jorge! - Sofia Arreola
