Kenna Pfeiffer Joins Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY28, Strengthening U23 Pipeline
Bolstering the next generation of U.S. cycling talent with a multi-year commitment.
Roanoke, VA (September, 2025) — Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY28 is thrilled to announce the signing of U23 athlete Kenna Pfeiffer through 2027. A multi-national speed skating champion and two-time Team USA member who made history as the first American in 16 years to win gold at a Colombian National event Kenna has rapidly transitioned to elite cycling — and is already making waves.
Kenna originally turned to cycling as cross-training during her skating career. Following a crash at the Euro Cup in late 2024 that sidelined her for several months, she shifted her full focus to the bike. Within her first year racing, she has already landed on the podium at the U23 Criterium at USA Cycling National Championships and emerged as the top Category 2 rider at the Tour of America’s Dairyland.
General Manager Nicola Cranmer shared her excitement about bringing Kenna on board:
“I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Kenna to the team. I first saw her race at the Armed Forces Classic, where she immediately impressed me with her fearless riding—charging through a pack of 104 women in a torrential downpour to claim 3rd place. Given that she’s only been racing for about a year, it’s truly remarkable and says so much about her confidence, courage, and competitive spirit.
There’s still plenty for her to learn, and I believe this is the perfect environment for her to grow. We’ll also be collaborating with the U.S. national team to help her build a strong foundation of racing experience over the next few years. Kenna continued to stand out at the recent Tour of America’s Dairyland, finishing as the top Cat 2 rider and her first trip to Europe she battled it out with strong fields of 127 women in Vrasene, Belgium taking a win. She’s gutsy, eager to learn, and brings fantastic energy to our U23 squad. I have no doubt that big things lie ahead for her.”
With a background forged through discipline and adversity, Kenna brings a unique and competitive edge to the program. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, she moved to Orlando to pursue skating full-time before recently returning home to channel her fierce drive and athletic power into cycling.
“Racing the past few months I have always looked up to the Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY28 girls in the peloton. I am very excited to start this new chapter in my career and learn as much as I can on the way. I can’t wait to be the next “weapon in the arsenal” ;) Being chosen to be on TWENTY28 is something I’m incredibly grateful for!” Commented Pfeiffer.
Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY28 looks forward to supporting Kenna’s growth.
