Day 3 at the Gateway Cup – Giro Della Montagna ACC race brought a slightly different dynamic, with mid-race ACC sprints changing the rhythm of the race. We weren’t targeting the overall ACC competition this year, with much of our season focused on track and stage racing, but it gave us a good opportunity to try a few new things. Sofia Arreola and Olivia Cummins did a great job covering moves and keeping us represented throughout the race before we committed to setting up a leadout for Marlies Mejias in the final. The timing and speed weren’t quite perfect yet, but that’s exactly why we’re working on it.

“The girls worked hard tonight and dug deep in the heat to help set me up for another podium. Even with all my experience, a microsecond of hesitation put me on the back foot a little in the sprint, especially with the headwind on the finishing stretch.
