El Tour de Tucson win for Marj Rinaldo and 3rd for Emmi Gilbert
The 42nd El Tour de Tucson delivered another unforgettable edition this year, with over 11,000 participants taking to the start line. In classic Tucson fashion, the wind turned the day into a race of attrition where smart positioning and solid fitness were non-negotiable.
Huge congratulations to Marj Rinaldo who powered her way to the win, and to Emmi Gilbert who rode strongly to claim 3rd. L39ion of Los Angeles, Holly Breck in 2nd. “I love this event—it’s so special to race on the roads I ride every day and to see the huge crowd it draws,” said Marj. It was a proud day for the team and a testament to the work they’ve been putting in.
"This was my third year competing in el Tour de Tucson, it was also my best result yet! I was very excited with my third place spot, especially with the windy conditions on race day. Navigating gnarly crosswinds is always a fun experience, and I am glad my skills aren’t too rusty coming off my off season. As a Tucson local, it’s always a great feeling having so many cyclists come into town to be apart of one of the largest races in Arizona. It always makes me smile seeing all the race bibs around town over el tour weekend" Said 3rd place finisher Emmi Gilbert
A big thank you to TJ Juskiewicz his incredible staff, and the army of volunteers who make this event happen. El Tour is epic in every sense—beautifully organized, fiercely contested, and a powerful fundraiser for many important causes.
