Dominant Performances at C1 for Mejias and McMullen

Roanoke, VA June 26, 2026 — Marlies Mejías and Rylee McMullen headed to Trinidad and Tobago for the Speed Paradise and Carnival of Speed Grand Prix track C1 Track cycling events at the National Cycling Velodrome in Couva — and the performances were nothing short of dominant.

Across the scratch races, elimination races, and omnium events, Virginia’s Blue Ridge TWENTY28 athletes delivered. From aggressive racing to composed finishes, Marlies and Rylee showed exactly why this team continues to be a force across disciplines.

“It felt really good to be back on the track in Trinidad and to come away with such a strong weekend. Winning three of the four standalone races and then winning every event in the omnium was a big confidence boost for me. Each race helped me feel sharper, more composed, and more like myself again. It was also really fun to race alongside my Aussie teammate Rylee McMullen. She had a very successful weekend too, and it is always motivating when your teammates are racing well and bringing great energy. This block is important for me as I head into the Summer Slam C2 double weekend and then the Central American Games C1.
